Are you wondering about land acknowledgements?
We will explore and discuss the words often used and different approaches
to acknowledging the land and its original stewards.
Join us for all or part of each of the two workshops.
The first workshop will be about 3 hours and has two parts: Traditional and Unceded.
- Traditional is a tabletop exercise in which we will examine Ray Aldred’s book Our Home and Treaty Land and Aimee Craft’s Treaty Words. We will screen a 30-minute video on Kanaka Bar’s work of self-sufficiency.
- Unceded will examine the Royal Proclamation of 1763, the book To Share and Not Surrender, and several CBC articles related to Land Issues.
Refreshments will be provided
Next Workshop: The second workshop, part 2 of 2, is scheduled for April 26th, 2025
